Key research shaping challenges in agriculture, food, and nutrition
Agriculture, food and nutrition are central pillars to many of the unprecedented challenges the world faces this century and critical to the health and well-being of individuals as well as the planet.
The interconnected and cross-disciplinary nature of research in these communities is demonstrated by their direct link to several of the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals, including Zero Hunger, No Poverty, Responsible Consumption and Production, Climate Action, and Life on Land. These challenges can be tackled more effectively by research data and findings being made as open and accessible as possible.
This Gateway aims to provide researchers, policymakers and practitioners with a dedicated space to discuss and share work related to all areas of agriculture, food and nutrition. This includes the nexus where these topics interact with key elements of the biosphere such as in climate, water, and land use.
This research includes a broad range of sub-topics and interdisciplinary areas such as:
- Soils
- Agronomy
- Food security
- Food systems
