- it provides a way to make sure that the results of mass-univariate results are share with sufficient additional information as to make more sense of them.
- it is VERY easy to use: with SPM and neurovault, results and their metadata can be packaged and shared in a matter of minutes
- it can also prove to be useful to routinely share results with the model specification (design matrix) of subject level analysis within a lab as a project progresses. This can be very useful for different members of a project to veiw results and know how they were obtained.
I usually try to make sure that my publications have an NIDM-results attached to them even if the main focus is not a mass univariate analysis, as one never knows who could find some use for those.

I am currently working to make sure that the BIDS compatible SPM pipeline of our lab will automatically output NIDM results to further remove more of the overhead:
