UCL Child Health supports the
UCL Great Ormond Street Institute of Child Health’s (GOS ICH) academic strategy by publishing any research from across its five Research and Teaching Departments:
- Developmental Biology and Cancer
- Developmental Neurosciences
- Genetics and Genomic Medicine
- Infection, Immunity and Inflammation
- Population, Policy and Practice
UCL Child Health Open Research makes it easy for child health researchers affiliated with UCL to share their results and insights rapidly, and to facilitate a constructive scientific discussion. Its publication criteria are:
- At least one author on the article must be affiliated with UCL or one of its associated institutions, including the UCL Great Ormond Street Institute of Child Health (GOS ICH), and working in the field of child health. (Articles with co-authors from multiple institutions are welcome, as long as one author meets this key criterion.)
- Current and past UCL researchers are eligible to publish research which arises from their time at UCL.
- Students are typically expected to publish with their supervisor. PhD students are welcome to publish on their own provided their supervisor endorses the paper prior to publication.
Article Processing Charges
Authors submitting to the UCL Child Health gateway will be required to arrange payment of the
article processing charge (APC) for their article.
Funds are available to UCL researchers via one of the following two routes:
- Funds are available via UCL if the article is funded by a UCL-held UKRI, Wellcome, Cancer Research UK, or British Heart Foundation grant.
- Funds may be available directly from other funders with open access polices.
We recommend that authors
contact the UCL Open Access team ahead of submission to discuss available
open access funding.
