Abstract
Sensitization and formation of health professionals in the area of pain has been a national strategic option since 2001, but its impact on care is unknown. The aim was to evaluate the impact of sensitizing and formatting events conducted over the past 10 years in the care provided by nurses for hospitalized children, in the area of pain.

The care improved in the last decade, but there are still gaps in the information collected in the history of pain, pain assessment and decision-making for a judicious prescription of interventions based on the pain assessment. The investment made in the last decade in sensitizing and formatting of health professionals proved to be a wise strategic choice in the improvement of pain control.
