About this Collection

The Desert Fishes Council is a nonprofit organization of scientists, managers, and citizens dedicated to preserving the biological integrity of desert aquatic ecosystems and their associated biota. The Council holds annual symposia to report member research and management endeavors, and facilitate rapid dissemination of information concerning activities of the Council. Founded in 1968 as a means to better protect highly imperiled desert fishes and their declining habitats, the Council continues to be the voice and sentry of this ever- vanishing fauna. Our partnership with F1000Research allows DFC members to present their posters and oral papers to a wider audience that may share their concerns and encourages both scientists and citizens to remain vigilant and informed about desert fishes and their habitats.
