About International Conference on Emergency Medicine

The International Conference on Emergency Medicine- the biennial academic meeting for the International Federation of Emergency Medicine- was held in April 2016 in Cape Town, South Africa.  Emergency Medicine is a vibrant, dynamic and diverse sphere. At ICEM2016 we celebrated the current practice of emergency medicine and the global development of the specialty. The theme was EM Now: Knowledge, Action, Accountability.  The components of the theme were thoughtfully detailed in the scientific abstracts presented as either posters or oral presentations.  The conference was attended by around 2000 delegates from almost 60 countries with nearly 700 abstracts presented over the four day conference. This collection hosts the scientific abstract posters and slides as presented at the ICEM2016 conference.  Research presentations were supported by the National Research Foundation (NRF) of South Africa.
