About International Symposium on Protein Misfolding Diseases

The "International Symposium on Protein Misfolding Diseases” will be held on July 31 – August 3, 2017 at the University of Catania, Catania, Sicily, Italy.

The topics to be covered in the symposium include:

• Structural, dynamics and kinetics of folding and misfolding of amyloid proteins
• Roles of membrane on protein misfolding and toxicity
• Roles of metals on protein misfolding and toxicity
• Amyloid inhibitors
• In-vivo studies on amyloids
• New approaches to study amyloid proteins

The symposium will feature lead scientists in the field as invited speakers and we are aiming at about 45 oral presentations. In addition to oral presentations, there will be plenty of time to discuss each topic in depth during informal gatherings and poster sessions. Furthermore, we are planning to promote student attendance with the goal of creating a forum for junior trainees to meet more established investigators.
