This Collection is dedicated to an inclusive exploration of innovative and emerging forms of research in digital archaeology. We want to paint a picture of the rapidly expanding and increasingly diverse field of digital archaeological practice and to examine connections between this work and other forms of practice within and outside of archaeology.
Contributions may cover, but need not be limited to, application of immersive media, artificial intelligence, machine learning and digital creativity. We also encourage papers showcasing novel applications of more established digital technologies (such as Spatial, 3D Technologies, Remote Sensing, and Cultural Heritage Data Management and Infrastructure) and we particularly welcome contributions that showcase diversity in the discipline. This will include research articles, brief reports, method articles, and data notes among other
article types. We would like to encourage the embedding of non-standard multimedia and audiovisual components in these submissions, so please
contact us if you would like to explore non-standard media submissions. Finally, we welcome contributions from interdisciplinary researchers and research teams as well as contributions from researchers at all career stages.
Keywords: Digital Archaeology; Archaeological Computing; Digital Media; Virtual Archaeology; Digital Heritage; Computational Archaeology
