About this Collection

Oxygen-binding proteins are among the most studied of all proteins. Recent developments emphasized structure and function of globins and oxygen-related proteins, and highlighted their multiple roles in natural environments and disease and their importance in globin evolution.

This collection provides a snapshot of the work presented at the meeting on Oxygen-binding and sensing proteins held in Sheffield, UK, in July 2014. The meeting was the 18th on this topic and included more than 50 lectures and 30 posters.

All contributors at the meeting are invited to submit their papers.
