About this Gateway
Aim and Scope:
Talents are an important human resource of each nation in the world. With the world undergoing profound and unpredictable changes in the new era, the development of eminent talents becomes more and more crucial. Young learners and researchers are the growing talents. There is a Chinese saying, “It takes ten years to grow trees and one hundred years to cultivate people.” Given the complexity and diversity of the development of talents, the practical strategies are on the agenda.
This gateway aims to enlighten young learners and researchers to develop their talent by means of “learning by doing scientific research”. To promote the importance of innovation, we endeavor to engage the educators, including principals, teachers, researchers in various disciplines to empower young learners and researchers with inquiry-based learning by doing scientific research projects to develop students’ all-round competencies, including creativity, critical thinking, analytical and communication skills.
This gateway serves as a hub for all collaborative parties to strive for developing young learners and researchers’ talents, as well as the illustration of joint effort of research output. It provides a platform for students and educators at Illume to publish peer-reviewed quality academic articles with transparency and evidence. It is also a venue for students to publish their research achievement in forms of non-peer-reviewed posters and slides. All articles, posters and slides published in this gateway are open access. This helps students and educators share and disseminate their research findings among their peers easily in the world. It is the first Illume gateway for, and by, young learners as “researchers”, and it will have a great impact on promising talents and build a community for educators with shared vision.
