About this Gateway
The NC3Rs

The NC3Rs is a publicly-funded UK-based scientific organisation that focuses on replacing, refining and reducing the use of animals in research and testing (the 3Rs).
By collaborating with scientists in the UK and overseas, it promotes high quality animal research and accelerates the development of technologies that reduce the reliance on in vivo models whilst providing robust and predictive tools for scientific, medical and environmental research.

The NC3Rs funds grants and early career awards, supports open innovation and the commercialisation of 3Rs technologies, and stimulates changes in policy, regulations and practice.

Scope of the NC3Rs gateway

The NC3Rs gateway is primarily designed to publish method articles describing the science and technology emerging from NC3Rs-funded research in sufficient detail to allow its use by others. The gateway also publishes brief reports and data notes, for sharing smaller pieces of work, registered reports and review articles that summarise the wider context and impact of NC3Rs-funded research.

If you are funded by the NC3Rs and are interested in submitting an article, please get in touch with the NC3Rs Office prior to submission.
