This Gateway is an independent publishing space for the dissemination of Abbott-sponsored research.
The Gateway provides a mechanism to support and accelerate the dissemination of evidence, thereby contributing to scientific progress.
Scope of this gateway
The Gateway allows for the publication of a broad range of peer-reviewed article types including research articles, method articles, study protocols, software tool articles, and data notes. All research published must be supported by the full methodology and underlying data to support reproducibility and reuse.
Research must be published in English.
How does the Gateway work?
F1000Research is an independent publishing platform which presents a new standard for open and transparent dissemination of research outputs and knowledge sharing. The F1000Research publishing model is fully open access, with open peer-review and a mandated FAIR data policy.
Submissions are made online, and all editorial processes and checks are handled by F1000. The independent editorial services provided by F1000 ensure that published articles are of appropriate quality, are peer reviewed by independent experts in the relevant field without a conflict-of-interest connection to the authors and are indexed (subject to peer review) in PubMed, DOAJ and Scopus to maximize discoverability.
Each publication undergoes fully transparent post-publication peer review following the F1000Research publication model. Referee reports from invited named experts will be posted alongside the article, allowing readers to get a full picture of the soundness of research.
