The gateway has been developed on the F1000Research platform as a resource for the community to publish, share and learn about the latest research in plant science. Articles published to this gateway will cover all aspects of the subject including, but not limited to, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, and Taxonomy and Systematics, and each research output will be representative of the ethos of F1000; rapid and transparent publication of accessible research for the betterment of the wider plant science community.

Working towards the UN Sustainable Development Goals, specifically the Life on Land initiative, the gateway offers access to all underlying data as a mechanism to support the FAIR Data principles.

The range of article types offered by F1000Research facilitates the dissemination of work as openly and quickly as possible through case studies, data notes, method articles, study protocols and software tools, as well as research and review articles. Each publication will undergo fully transparent post-publication peer review following the F1000Research publication model.
