About this Gateway
Scope
Research into plant science fundamentally impacts the way in which we understand the wider biological world. As a result of this, it is essential that this knowledge is easily shareable and accessible for authors and readers alike. The research community requires resources that expedite the process from submission to quality-assured publication, and in order to facilitate this, the Plant Science Gateway will collate relevant and valuable outputs from established and emerging researchers across the botany ecosystem.
This Gateway will make use of the expansive range of article types on the platform which will help to disseminate knowledge within the subject, and encourages researchers to publish outputs related to the following non-exhaustive areas:

Gateway Areas
This Area allows researchers to publish outputs regarding all biochemical processes directly related to plants, such as photosynthesis.
This Area will enable authors and readers to share and access research into the intentional modification of plants at the genetic level.
This Area allows researchers to publish research in all aspects of cell biology and imaging related to plants, such as intracellular transport and sorting.
This Area enables researchers to publish articles concerning both the heredity and variations of a plant, as well as the epigenetic changes they undergo as a result of histone modification and DNA methylation.
This Area focuses on the publication of research regarding molecular aspects and mechanisms of the interaction between plants and microorganisms, such as viruses, bacteria, and fungi.
In this Area, researchers will be able to publish their insights into both the physical form and structure of a plant, as well as categorising the evolutionary development of a plant over time, within this Gateway Area.
This Area will act as a dedicated hub for all new research into the field of both sexual and asexual plant reproduction. This includes developments in breeding to introduce desired traits into the plants.
This Area will act as a venue for authors to publish their research regarding the discovery, identification, classification and description of plants, alongside their evolutionary history and relationships.
