Quick dissemination of open research enabling effective responses
The Emerging Diseases and Outbreaks Gateway brings together all content published on F1000Research related to emerging diseases and global disease outbreaks, making the information about localized outbreaks, epidemics, or pandemics rapidly and openly accessible for others to consult and use. Current content includes articles on COVID-19, HIV/AIDS, Monkeypox, Ebola, Zika, Influenza and much more.
The Gateway provides six areas based on the World Health Organization Regional Office structure to highlight research and outbreaks occurring in the main world regions. A Global area also captures research related to diseases that are globally endemic or have reached pandemic status.
Whether the outbreak is an endemic, epidemic, or pandemic outbreak, we encourage the community to share their findings in this Gateway. We also welcome findings related to disease outbreaks of non-pathogenic origins, such as outbreaks of chemical and radiological origin.
All articles are published following the F1000Research model, which facilitates the rapid and transparent sharing of research by providing fast, open publication, alongside access to any underlying data, software code, and resources, and also to expert peer review reports.
We accept submissions of research in a number of different article formats, including Methods, Study Protocols, Data Notes, and more.
